In 2022, the Swedish Chemicals Agency's enforcement department carried out an enforcements project together with the Swedish Customs. The inspections were carried out in freight premises at Arlanda Airport.

During the controls, we chose 80 shipments for physical control of the goods. In these shipments, we controlled 260 different types of products. 15 of these shipments contained products that did not comply with the requirements in chemical legislation.

In total, 15 types of jewellery and 6 different types of electrical products was stopped. 10 types of jewellery contained too high levels of cadmium, 2 jewellery contained too high levels of lead and 3 jewellery contained too high levels of cadmium and were tested positive for nickel release.

3 electrical products were stopped due to non-compliant labelling and 3 electrical products were stopped both because they contained lead and the labelling was non-compliant.

The stopped goods were imported by ten different companies. In total, 251 jewellery and 366 electrical products were stopped.
