This report describes an enforcement project in which the Swedish Chemicals Agency has checked the labeling and conditions of biocidal products authorized under either the EU Biocides Regulation or national legislation.

Internet sales are increasing rapidly and for market surveillance authorities this poses special challenges and requires new ways of exercising enforcement.

During 2023, a project was carried out in which various legal requirements for biocidal products that are authorised according to the Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR) were checked.

In this project, the Swedish Chemicals Agency has controlled 250 articles regarding chemical content, and in some cases also labelling. The focus has been articles used during holidays or during certain seasons.
