The Swedish Chemicals Agency cooperates with the Swedish Customs to stop non-compliant articles, chemical products and pesticides at the border and after import. We control if the products imported from countries outside the EU fulfil the requirements in Sweden.

The Swedish Chemicals Agency has tested nine Labubu stuffed animals—both originals and counterfeit versions—for the presence of restricted substances. The labeling was also checked for five of them.

This report describes an enforcement project in which the Swedish Chemicals Agency has inspected the labeling and conditions for wood preservatives that are approved under either the EU Biocidal Products Regulation or Swedish legislation. Some of the products were also analyzed.

Many of the tips and complaints regarding pesticides received by the Swedish Chemicals Agency in 2025 concerned the online sale of pesticides that are not approved in Sweden. In 2025, we conducted an inspection of online pesticide sales as part of a regulatory project based on the tips we received.

As part of this regulatory project on consumer electronics, the Swedish Chemicals Agency has examined the chemical composition and labelling of a total of 209 products. In our analyses, we have looked for substances restricted under the RoHS Directive, the REACH Regulation, and the POPs Regulation.

In 2024, the Swedish Chemicals Agency conducted an enforcement project with inspections of pesticides offered in e-commerce. The main objective of the project was to stop sales of illegal pesticides, to prevent harm on the environment and the health of Swedish consumers. We inspected 35 economic operators who offered illegal pesticides through e-commerce. The inspections involved both plant protection products and biocidal products in online stores and on online platforms.

The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority and the Swedish Chemicals Agency have conducted a joint market surveillance initiative to inspect air purifiers on the Swedish market. The inspection covered air purifiers that emit ozone as a by-product and are designed to be left running while people are in the room. The main purpose of the project was to check the ozone emissions of the devices, but also to examine whether the products comply with other electrical safety and chemical regulations.
