PRIO has been updated with a new PFAS substance group, perfluorocarboxylic acids (long-chain) and their derivatives, which includes more than 300 PFAS substances. The group is based on an indicative list under the Stockholm Convention. Learn more about substance groups in PRIO.
This spring, we improved the functionality for downloading search results. There is now also the option to download our change log.
We have removed about 20 substances from the PRIO database because the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has updated the information for the substances.
In February 2026, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) updated the Candidate List in the REACH Regulation with two new substances or substance groups:
The PRIO database includes PFAS substances based on several different references. One of the references for PFAS is the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA). An update of the PRIO reference PFAS, US EPA has resulted in an additional 3,000 PFAS substances in PRIO. The substances meet the OECD PFAS definition from 2021. In total, the PRIO database now includes 14,000 PFAS substances.
