PRIO is updated with the 2020 reported Products register data. The Swedish Chemicals Agency's Products register contains information on the use of substances in chemical products. Within a few weeks time we will publish the 2021 data.
The search function in PRIO is now open after a period of downtime. The reason for the downtime was a system update that turned out to be more extensive than planned.
In January 2023 the European Chemicals Agency ECHA updated the Candidate List with 9 new substances 1,1'-[Ethane-1,2-diylbisoxy]bis[2,4,6-tribromobenzene], EC-number 253-692-3, CAS-number 37853-59-1 2,2',6,6'-Tetrabromo-4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol (TBBPA), EC-number 201-236-9, CAS-number 79-94-7 4,4'-Sulphonyldiphenol (bisphenol S), EC-number 201-250-5, CAS-number 80-09-1 Barium diboron tetraoxide, EC-number 237-222-4, CAS-number 13701-59-2 Bis(2-ethylhexyl) tetrabromophthalate, covering any of the individual isomers and/or combinations thereof Isobutyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, EC-number 224-208-8, CAS-number 4247-02-3 Melamine, EC-number 203-615-4, CAS-number 108-78-1 Perfluoroheptanoic acid and its salts (PFHpA) Reaction mass of 2,2,3,3,5,5,6,6-octafluoro-4-(1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropan-2-yl)morpholine and 2,2,3,3,5,5,6,6-octafluoro-4-(heptafluoropropyl)morpholine, EC-number 473-390-7 These substances or substance groups are included in PRIO with the reference Candidate List . Melamine is not associated to a criteria for phase-out substances in PRIO but is considered a phase-out substance as it is included in the Candidate List in accordance with Article 57(f) of the REACH regulation. The inherent properties of melamine is therefore of comparable concern as to other phase-out substances in PRIO.
PRIO now applies the OECD PFAS definition from 2021 (previously the PFAS definition in KIFS 2018:4 was used) and has consequently been updated with new PFAS substances from the OECD PFAS list (2018). The PFOA group in PRIO has been updated with new substances from the latest update of the Stockholm Convention's indicative list of substances covered by the restriction (UNEP/POPS/POPRC.17/INF/14).
