We offer support on developing effective, preventive chemicals control in your country or region. We focus on providing guidance, tools and building networks to strengthen institutions for sustainable chemicals management.
Our support is organized and led by experts from the Swedish Chemicals Agency in collaboration with representatives from other countries and international organisations. A key factor in the success of the programme is the extensive experience and knowledge within the Swedish Chemicals Agency on working with chemicals control.
We offer support on:
- Improving Legal Frameworks
Strong legislation is crucial for managing chemical risks effectively.
We support your country in strengthening your legal frameworks for preventive chemicals control. Legal frameworks should outline conditions for marketing and selling products, decision-making criteria, and the roles of government and industry. They should also define implementation mechanisms and enforcement responsibilities.
- Improving Implementation and Enforcement
Sanctions and inspections guarantee adherence to regulations. We support effective implementation and enforcement of chemicals legislation. It involves creating a sub-statutory regulatory framework, building agencies, and following up compliance.
- Increasing Organisational Capacity
Strengthened organizations ensure effective chemicals control. We support the capacity of national organizations to safeguard preventive chemicals control. This involves staffing, providing tools, and securing sustainable funding.
- Increasing Individual Capacity
People with the right training are essential for the effective implementation of safe chemicals management. We contribute to the increased knowledge and skills in chemicals management by organising training courses for you and your colleagues.
