Phase-out substance: PFAS, Particularly persistent substances
The inherent properties of PFASs (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are, due to the substances extreme persistence, comparable to those of particularly hazardous substances and PFASs should therefore, from a precautionary perspective, be treated as particularly hazardous substances. According to the Swedish environmental quality objective A Non-Toxic Environment, the use of particularly hazardous substances shall as far as possible cease. Some of these substances are already banned in various uses.
