Waste directive - SCIP

Producers, importers and distributors of articles have to report the presence of substances of very high concern in their articles to the SCIP database at the European Chemicals Agency, Echa, as from 5 January 2021. Retailers supplying articles directly and exclusively to consumers are not covered by the obligation. In Sweden, the Swedish Chemicals Agency is responsible for this provision. The other provisions in the Waste Directive belong to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's area of responsibility.
