Report 2/26: Government Commission on Regulatory Simplification – Final Report
Publisher: Swedish Chemicals Agency
File type: PDF
Page type: A4
Number of pages: 31
Publication year: 2026
Language: Swedish with English summary
In this government assignment, we have conducted a survey of the Swedish Chemicals Agency's regulations with the aim of identifying opportunities to reduce the regulatory burden on companies. We have also reviewed relevant laws and ordinances.
The Swedish Chemicals Agency's general guidelines were phased out in the early 2000s. Most chemical legislation is currently enacted at the EU level, usually in the form of regulations that are not to be implemented in national legislation but become directly applicable as law in Sweden. Throughout the assignment, we have maintained a dialogue with various business organisations to gather input on the regulations that are most burdensome and where simplification measures are most needed. In the sub-report submitted in March 2025, we presented the results of the survey, along with an analysis and an action plan for implementing the assignment. This final report presents the following implemented measures and an updated action plan.
