Language: Swedish with summary in English
The Swedish Government has commissioned the Swedish Chemicals Agency to review and simplify our regulations and general guidelines, and to submit proposals for simplification of laws and regulations within our sphere of activity. Ten other authorities have been given the same assignment, aiming to reduce the regulatory burden on companies.
Within the framework of the assignment, we have analysed our three regulations and related parts of Swedish regulations on chemicals, as well as the Swedish Environmental Code, Chapter 14 on chemical products and biotechnical organisms. The Swedish Chemicals Agency has long since phased out its general guidelines.
This sub-report summarises the results of our mapping and analysis of the potential for regulatory simplification. Obtaining views from the business community has been an important part of the assignment. The sub-report provides an action plan for the continued work on the government assignment.
The action plan lists four priority areas that will be our focus during the rest of the assignment:
- Swedish permit rules for particularly hazardous chemical products
- The rules of the Products Register
- Rules concerning pesticides
- Certain bans on chemical products
