Important information - system errors affect invoicing
Swedish Chemical Agency wishes to inform about a system error that affects parts of this year´s invoicing of the annual chemical fee.
Troubleshooting and correction work is ongoing. Unfortunately the error is extinctive and may continue well in to autumn 2024. The following errors can currently not be handled:
- all changes to invoice details, such as invoice address, PO number (a.k.a purchase order number), etc.
- credits
- debits
Attention! Companies that have already received this year´s invoice but need to manage changes to invoice details can ignore the received invoice and its due date. A new invoice, with a new due date, will be generated as soon as the system error is fixed.
Thank you for your patience!

Content:
The Swedish Chemicals Agency uses the Products Register to store information on chemical products and biotechnical organisms that are manufactured in or transferred or imported into Sweden. Anyone manufacturing or importing products that have to be reported must provide this information to the Agency.

Are you reporting for the first time?
Please start by following these steps:
- Create an account and report your business activity (activity report)
You must submit an activity report regardless of how much of a notifiable product you manufacture or imports into Sweden. If you do not already have an account, start here by choosing the type of log in you prefer and create an account External link.. - Register your products
If the annual volume per product is at least 100 kg, you must also report the products. The products shall be reported as soon as possible, but no later than 28 February the year after import/production of the products started. - Report quantities annually
If you have reported products, you must also report the amount you manufacture or import into Sweden annually. At the beginning of each year, you will be reminded of the annual revision of the information submitted to the Products Register. Produce the accounting report in time for it to be filed in the Products Register no later than 12 pm on 28 February.
Is your product a pesticide?
If your product is a notifiable pesticide, you must also, in addition to reporting it, apply for an authorisation for approval before you may sell and use it in Sweden.
See how to apply for authorisation for biocidal products.
See how to apply for authorisation for plant protection products.
Information for foreign companies
Suppliers providing composition information to their customers
In some cases, the company obligated to report their products to the Products Register does not have access to the composition for the products. For example, a Swedish company importing a product into Sweden from a foreign supplier is obligated to report the product, but the foreign supplier is the only one that has access to the product composition. In these cases, the foreign supplier can send their composition directly to the Products Register, without the customer having access to it.
The information about the product composition is called a Product-in-product (PiP). Once it is registered in our system, it is given a registration number, a so called A- number. The A-number can then be used as a reference to the product composition by the foreign supplier in communications with their Swedish customer in order for them to fulfil their obligation to report the product properly.
You can report Product-in-product in two ways:
- By our web-portal External link.. If your company previously have been reporting by paper form, please contact the Products Register by produktregistret@kemi.se to get access to your company’s record online.
- By paper form below.
