PRIO – A tool for Risk Reduction of Chemicals

Substances not fulfilling the criteria

The substance does not meet the selection criteria in the PRIO tool. This does not mean that using the substance is without any risk. On the other hand the intrinsic properties are not such that they should generally be given the highest priority in the risk reduction work of your company. The PRIO criteria represent a general basic level for all industries.

The health and environmental properties that are given priority in PRIO are above all the long term effects. Acute risks such as fire and explosion are not covered by the prioritisation in PRIO. If these, or other types of risk are very important in your industry, you can very well complement the PRIO criteria with further relevant criteria.

In order to find out whether your substance has any further health or environmental properties, you can search in the Classification database to obtain this information.

Remember that the rules for classification and labelling always apply.

You have now reached the end of the prioritisation guide for this substance. Consider whether you have more substances that need to be assessed.
