The tool contains five main headings. If you are a new user, it is recommended that you start on the menu Before  starting, where you will obtain further information about the purpose and contents of the tool. A complete list of contents appears further down the same page.

Under the heading Priority-setting Guide, you can obtain help in making a step-by-step assessment of the substances of interest. By answering questions step by step, you obtain help in drawing up parts of the basis on which to take decisions in your risk-reduction work.

Under the heading Chemicals in practical use there is information on how the tool is to be used for various professional roles. General tips are also given here on what options there are for exerting influence.

Clicking on Search in the database takes you straight to the database search tool. The search tool also contains a page guide that provides further information and explanations of difficult words and expressions.

Under heading Criteria you will find detailed information on PRIO's criteria and their origin.
