Helpdesk and Extended support for Chemicals Control

Innehållsförteckning:

The Swedish Chemicals Agency offers expert advice and support to countries and organizations looking to establish or strengthen national chemicals control systems. We provide support through our Helpdesk or via our Extended Support Program

Helpdesk Support

Our Helpdesk is designed to respond flexibly to requests for support, providing tailored guidance based on the specific needs of each country or organization. This service is available on an ad-hoc basis, allowing us to address short-term issues related to chemicals management.

Typical support via our Helpdesk include:

  • Answering questions or providing advice on chemical legislation development
  • Reviewing draft legislation and offering written feedback
  • Hosting online seminars or participating in others' seminars
  • Organizing training on different aspects of chemicals control (GHS, risk assessment, sustainable financing, etc.)

The Helpdesk support is available for short-term interventions, with a maximum of 30 days per activity. If your needs exceed this, we can explore the possibilities of extended support.

Extended Support

For countries or regional organisations that need more in-depth support, we offer extended support. This support needs some kind of formal agreement like a work plan or a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between us at the Swedish Chemicals Agency and the partner organization. Extended support can be provided in your country or via on-line meetings. Extended support can include:

  • Assistance with pesticide registration criteria and decision-making
  • Assistance when implementing the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling (GHS) in your country
  • Supporting the introduction of sustainable financing for chemical control
  • Support in development of a national chemicals register

Our Expertise

The Swedish Chemicals Agency has extensive experience in preventive chemicals control at both the national and international levels. We have supported numerous countries in establishing or improving their chemicals management systems through international development cooperation.

More information and contact

Except for the support and assistance through our Helpdesk and Extended Support, we also have online courses and other guidance material to help countries implement effective chemical control measures.
