Description of areas by the type of color
Paints free of biocides only
For those boats having their main mooring site in the Gulf of Bothnia north of Örskär or in inland waters (freshwater) there are no authorised anti-fouling paints. There, you are only allowed to use products not containing biocides and therefore not requiring authorisation.
Paints for the east coast
For boats with their main mooring site on the east coast south of Örskär or on the west coast, that is, the whole area from Örskär to the Norwegian border, you are allowed to use so called paints for the east coast. That is true also for the areas around Öland and Gotland.
Paints for the east coast and west coast
För båtar med huvudsaklig förtöjningsplats på Västkusten, det vill säga området från Trelleborg till norska gränsen, får du använda både så kallade ostkustfärger och västkustfärger.
For boats with their main mooring site on the west coast, that is the area from Trelleborg to the Norwegian border, you are allowed to use both so called paints for the east coast and paints for the west coast.
