ChemSec: Briefing on EU PFAS public consultation
REACH authorities in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway are currently preparing a restriction for the group of PFAS, meaning that many uses of PFAS will most probably be banned. You can contribute to the proposal by participating in the consultation that is currently underway. At this briefing from ChemSec, you will receive more information about the consultation and how to contribute.
The current work is focused on understanding the production and use of PFAS in the EU, as well as getting an overview of available alternatives and economic impacts. The authorities seek more information, and the newly launched public consultation aims at gathering additional information.
We encourage companies to respond to the public consultation and provide the authorities with information, which is indeed very valuable to them.
Providing data and feedback can be complicated. No need to worry –we are here to help you! At this briefing we will give you practical advice on how to take part in the consultation and to answer all your questions. Jenny Ivarsson, Strategic advisor at the Swedish Chemicals Agency will also join the briefing and reply to questions.
Last day to respond to the public consultation is October 17th.
