In Sweden

From 1 January 2003, organotin compounds may not be placed on the Swedish market or used in biocidal applications.

In the EU

From 1 July 2003, organotin paints or paints containing organotin compounds may not be used on ships and oil rigs registered in or managed by an EU Member state. From 1 January 2008, such paint must either be removed or painted over.
