Classification and Labelling

New Classification Regulation

The CLP Regulation on classification and labelling of substances and mixtures (CLP) came into force on 20 January 2009. Swedish regulations (KIFS 2005:5) (the Classification List) ceased to apply on 1 June 2009 (amendment KIFS 2009:4).

The binding, harmonised classification of Annex VI to the CLP Regulation applies.

KIFS regulations (KIFS 2005:7) on the classification and labelling of chemical products will apply during a transitional period until 2015, in parallell with the CLP Regulation.

NKG CLP workshop on Classification & Labelling

A workshop on CLP was held in Stockholm, Sweden, 13-14 April 2010. Around 45 delegates from five Nordic countries plus the Faroe Islands participated. The outcome of the work­shop is documented in a report. The main part of the report comprises presentation material which can be found in different linked pdf-files. Where appropriate the report details the conclusions and recommendations of the workshop.

This report is intended for submission to NKG as a follow up activity, to workshop delegates, relevant EU forums and other interested parties.
