The Toxicological Council is an expert body, managed by the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KemI), providing scientific advice and consultation on toxicological issues to government agencies within the environmental sector. The different affiliations of the members contribute to improved contacts between researchers and agencies.
Scientific issues, guidance and aim for consensus
The Toxicological Council promotes a high scientific level in risk analyses carried out by the agencies and provides guidance on criteria and principles for scientific interpretation. The Council strives for a co-ordinated and uniform design of risk analyses between agencies.
Working methods vary from in-house meetings to seminars on topical toxicological issues and discussions on assessments and interpretations of toxicological data.
