KemI's website is designed in accordance with the guidelines of the 24/7 e-government, issued by the Swedish Administrative Development Agency.
KemI endeavours to make the website available and useful to as many visitors as possible.

Contents
The information on this website is meant to be useful for visitors. It should provide guidance on how to act to fulfil the requirements laid down in regulations or how to act in some other way to reach the objective a non-toxic environment.
The webpage structure contains three target group choices, a base menu and a tools menu.
The base menu leads to information about particular subjects, for example, databases, legislation and links.
The target group choices contain information adapted to companies and inspectors in order for them to find rules on and tools for work on chemical control. Choosing media leads to news and information within the chemicals area. Target group choices link to the contents under the base menu.
The website's starting page contains entries to often requested information, such as press releases, publications, What's new? etc.

Navigation
When you have chosen an item or have moved on to a sub-page, a path will appear at the top right of the page showing what navigation route has led to the page.
Sometimes there are links in texts or link blocks on the pages that lead on to a page under some other item. Using the path, you can see where you are in the structure. To find your way back to the preceding page, you can use the Back button on the web browser's toolbar, for example.
Quick keys
Quick keys are used to be able to navigate to webpages without using the mouse.
KemI uses the following quick keys:

- 4 - Search
- 7 - Contact (webpage foot on all pages)
- n - Webpage's second menu
- r - Related information
- s - Webpage content
- t - Base menu
- v - Tools menu
The type of operative system you use determines how the quick keys should be used. On Windows systems, press the Alt key when you press the quick key and press Enter. Mac systems uses Ctrl+quick key. Please consult the help texts in your web browser for more information.
Arrangements of the pages
Each starting page under the base menu or a target group entry has a sub menu on the left leading to further information on the topic. The mid part of each page contains an introductory presentation of the contents. On the right you may find links to related topics and documents as well as other web sites.
Contact information for KemI is provided at the bottom of each page. Contact information for the person responsible for the contents of a particular page is provided on the bottom of that page.

KemI's website works best with Internet Explorer, version 4. and higher or Mozilla Firefox browser.
