National implementation plan for the Stockholm Convention

The Swedish Chemicals Inspectorate (KemI) has been commissioned by the Swedish Government, in co-operation with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, to elaborate a national implementation plan (NIP) for Sweden. The plan shall present how Sweden is to implement the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants, POPs.

The Stockholm convention is the first global environmental convention to include production, use and releases of, trade with and wastes from hazardous chemicals.

The commission report was presented to the Government in April 2006.
